As a major sculptor of the school of the Monumental Arts And Art deco, his exuberant pro-Antiquity style that stood at the entrance of the Ruhlmann Pavilion. As a man of his time, Janniot participated with gusto in the great adventure of the transatlantic cruise boats, so admired at the time. L' Ile de France and the Normandy were sumptuous vessels, carrying several thousands passengers to and from the U.S. As such, they were an extraordinary showcase to promote the talent of the major artists of the Art Deco school. The craze for this kind of art and a mutual Franco-American economic interest enabled Janniot to export his know-how to the U.S, particularly in New York where he sculpted the high reliefs of the House of France in the Rockfeller Center.
